Overview


The Senior Convergence Engineer is responsible for deploying customer projects and functions as a technical SME in support of other team members. This individual can cover the technical deployment and integrity of a solution, customer satisfaction and success, and documenting project and/or complex designs. This position will deliver complex solutions, along with corresponding documentation, and assist with development of technical design collateral.

 

The Engineer shall provide Avaya-Certified Senior Convergence Engineer onsite at USSS Headquarters, Monday - Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time, excluding government holidays.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Manage ticket resolution to completion
  • Complete Move, Add, and Change requests
  • Execute deployments and new features of Equinox, Workplace, and TEAMS integrations
  • Manage, Patch and Administrate VMWare servers
  • Assist with Property paperwork for large projects
  • Manage and assist with team member documentation
  • Documents business, information, application, and technology aspects of approach
  • Executes deployments of the solution, managing successful cutovers
  • Installs, supports, and troubleshoots UC products as projects dictate
  • Supports and troubleshoots customer environments to achieve a high-quality installation

Responsibilities

  • Experience designing and implementing large-scale Unified Communications solutions
  • MGCP / H.323 / SIP experience
  • Experience designing and implementing QoS in LAN / WAN / MAN environments
  • Experience with PSTN communication including SIP Trunks
  • Experience with VMWare, Equinox, Workplace, and TEAMS
  • Documentation skills – able to deliver low-level design documentation
  • Excellent verbal / written communication skills
  • 10 + years of experience in designing and deploying Unified Communications solutions
  • Work experience must include technical consulting, solution design, project envisioning, planning, development, deployment, and management

Qualifications

  • Sec+ or equivalent network security certification to meet DoD 8570 requirements if required
  • Ability to obtain and hold a DoD SECRET or USSS security clearance
  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or minimum 10 years industry experience
  • UC Implementation Certifications
  • Other technical certifications (i.e. CCNA, Avaya ACE, etc.)
