  • Overview

    As a Senior Database Engineer/Administrator with MicroTech you will be performing database administration activities required to install and maintain database management software services.

    Responsibilities

    • Handle common database procedures, such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration, etc.
    • Profile server resource usage, optimize and tweak as necessary 
    • Designs, develop and deliver / implement data solutions to include: architecture design, prototyping of concepts to proof of concept, development of standards, design and development of test plans, code and module design.
    • Design, build, support SQL objects such as packages, tables, procedures, views, and deployment scripts for high-performance transactional reporting and batch applications. 
    • Provide long-range requirements for database administration and design in conjunction with other managers in the information systems function. 
    • Conduct quality control and auditing of databases to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data.

    Qualifications

    • BA/BS degree and 5+ years of SQL database experience 
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft SQL and MySQL database management 
    • Knowledge of de-facto standards and best practices in Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL 
    • Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL statements 
    • In-depth understanding of Operating Systems, Business Applications and data flow dependencies between applications
