  • Overview

     

    The Virtualized Systems Manager will be responsible for sustaining, integrating, protecting, and advancing communications capabilities, cybersecurity management, planning and programming, policies, engineering, compliance and assessments by providing timely, reliable support to current and future missions.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Shall be proficient in ESXi and VMWare products

    • Shall design, implement, troubleshoot, and optimize virtual machines, virtual desktop infrastructure (Horizon View), and virtual networks

    • Shall provide systems engineering solutions for the analysis, design, integration, installation, testing, and life-cycle support of new and upgraded systems associated with delivery of infrastructure capabilities as defined by the AF enterprise architecture

    • Set up, configure, develop, maintain, troubleshoot, and support internal and external networks.

    • Perform loads, upgrade, patches, data recovery, backups, and maintain active directory

    • Contractor shall perform upgrading and restoring of servers and SAN equipment

    • Conduct measures that protect and defend information and information systems by ensuring their availability, integrity, authentication, confidentiality, and non-repudiation. This shall include, but not be limited to, providing for restoration of information systems by incorporating protection, detection, and reaction capabilities

    • Implement and conduct IA operations such as, but not limited to, identity management, identity authentication, threat analyses and certification and accreditation

    • shall design, develop, test and package systems and software changes as well as provide problem resolutions for an existing system

    • Maintain (backup, integrity check, etc.) data files and monitor system configuration to ensure data integrity. This includes but is not limited to, planning, installing, operating, backing up, data recovery, and maintaining a variety of operating systems such as, but not limited to, various Microsoft ® products, UNIX variants, and Linux variants and the configuration, administration, OS hardening, system maintenance and troubleshooting; as well as identifying, installing and maintaining system hardware. Hardware components include laptops, rack mounted servers, blade servers and enclosures, storage area networks, routers, switches and network appliances. Abilities shall include how to install, implement, operate, and maintain various virtualization environment platforms

    Qualifications

    • 3 years experience in virutalizing environments
    • 5 years experience working with servers, to include blade server technology in a virtualized environment
    • 3 years experience in system integration
    • 3 years experience managing and maintaining data center backup capabilities
    • 3 years enterprise storage experience in integration and migration of storage area network (SAN) and network attached storage (NAS) technologies
    • Have formal training in Windows server technology and SAN equipment (EMC-Dell, Netapp preferred).
    • Certified Microsoft Solutions Expert (MCSE)
    • VMware Certified Professional (VCP6) in vSphere 6.x or more recent
    • DoD 8140 Information Assurance Certifications IAT Level II
    • VMware Certified Professional 5 - Data Center Virtualization (VCP5-DCV) certifiication or higher
    • Top Secret Clearance
